Pishtaco

Andean mythological figure

A pishtaco is a folkloric boogeyman figure in the Andes region of South America, particularly in Peru and Bolivia, which consumes the fat of its victims. In some parts of the Andes, the pishtaco is referred to as ñakaq, or kharisiri or lik'ichiri in the Aymara language.
